Audacity - free, easy-to-use audio editor for Windows, Mac OS X, GNU / Linux and other operating systems. You can use Audacity to record audio, digitize analog recordings (cassettes, LPs), edit the files in Ogg Vorbis, MP3 and WAV, the physical editing of multiple files (cutting, gluing, mixing), change the speed or pitch of a recording, and much more .

Record
Audacity can record sound from the outside with a microphone built into the OS or mixer channel Line In, which can connect a cassette player, record player or minidisc. With some sound cards and can record streaming audio.

• Record up to 16 channels at once (requires multi-channel sound card).
• LED volume before, during, and after recording.
Import and export of audio data
You can import sound files into the project Audacity, change them, together with other files or new recordings, and export the result in several common file formats.

• Import audio to MPEG (including MP2 and MP3) with libmad.
• Exports to MP3 encoder with LAME, installed separately.
• Creation of WAV files and AIFF, which can be recorded on audio CD.
• Import and export all file formats supported by libsndfile.
• Opening of the raw-files (without headers) with the command "Import raw-file."
• Note: Audacity does not currently support WMA and AAC, as well as other file formats with closed specifications.
Editing
• Basic cut, copy, paste and delete.
• Unlimited history of changes, which you can cancel it and repeat the action.
• Very rapid changes in large files.
• Change or reduction of an unlimited number of tracks.
• Using the "pencil" to edit the individual points of samples.
• Smooth change of volume by editing tool envelope.
Effects
